Drawing Scanning and CAD Conversion Service
Drawings in their own right are extremely cumbersome to file and copy but ‘pre CAD’ drawings still need to be archived in some way.
Over 5000 large drawings can be archived onto a single CD-ROM and in many cases creases, stains and other ‘defects’ can be removed in the scanning process giving a pure white background and clean crisp lines.
Once scanned drawings can be loaded as a backdrop into CAD systems or even converted by our digitising service into a fully structured CAD file in AutoCAD, Microstation or other format.
Free Viewing Software
We can also supply our FREE Quickimage viewer as part of our drawings scanning service.
Large Sizes Handled
Our large format scanners can cope with drawings of up to 36” wide and any length. Our longest drawing handled was an aircraft wing section of over 50’ long !
Full Colour Facilities
We can also scan full colour maps and drawings in up to 24bits (16+ Million colours).
File formats supplied are usually TIF Group 4 compressed files at 200dpi but we can supply CALS, GIF, JPG and pretty much any other format up to 500dpi.
The scanners we use are amongst the fastest and most sophisticated on the market and have both top and bottom illumination which gives excellent image quality from film or tracing sheets.
All of our images are cleaned up after scanning by running them through a despeckle and deskewing process to obtain the best results and each image is individually inspected prior to final release.
Convert Your Drawings to CAD Format
Once scanned we can also convert your files into fully formatted CAD files in AutoCAD (DWG), Microstation (DGN) or other formats enabling you to make rapid changes.
We also market a range of associated image editing tools specifically for drawing management including: RxSpotlight, Pixedit, GTX RasterCAD and AutoManger Workflow.
