When consulting with a new client DCS operate to a strict methodology which ensures that we identify all of your business problems and challenges before we recommend any solution, product or service.

The initial point of contact, especially for large projects, would normally be an initial 'requirements meeting' at which we would seek to clarify:

  • The reasoning behind the main business drive to the project
  • The specific business and technical objectives
  • Timescales and key dates
  • Budget constraints
  • Future project development / expansion
  • Client project team individual responsibilities

All of our business consultants have at least degree level qualifications and 5 or more years expertise in assembling business solutions to complex information management problems.

Many of our consultants are also certified with CDIA+ qualifications which are currently the only independently exam tested accreditation in our industry sector.

After this initial meeting our business consultant will prepare a carefully considered proposal which will address all of your requirements in the most cost effective way whilst ensuring you get the maximum return on your investment. Wherever possible we will also prepare an ROI calculation for you comparing different options/solutions which may be available to you.

With larger projects, our customers then typically commission some consultancy days which result in the production of a 'Project Specification Document' (PSD).

This document covers the detailed configuration, costs, specification, data fields, training, project plan and other areas which enable DCS and the client to check that everything has been considered and that the solution meets their requirements.

After the PSD has been signed off between DCS and the client we will then proceed to implement the solution in accordance with the project plan.

Once the implementation is complete and a testing period has elapsed then DCS typically assist the client in benchmarking the solution against the original success/failure factors which were agreed as part of the PSD. DCS will then keep in touch with the client in the longer term to ensure that they obtain maximum benefit from our solution and that they are kept aware of any new functionality / product / service updates which may benefit them.

We hope you can see that the above process takes time and considerable staff skill to complete successfully but at the end of the process you will end up with the solution which gives you the maximum return against your investment.
