DCS provide outsourced scanning, data capture, document management, document conversion and processing services.
Our clients include the National Archives, MOD, Home Office, over 50 local authorities and some of the UKs largest private and public companies.
All outsource services are covered under our ISO9001:2000 procedures which are externally audited on a regular basis. DCS also, where applicable, ensure that our scanning services follow the guidelines of BS BIP0008 for the legal admisibility of scanned documents.

Document scanning
Using our sophisticated Kodak high speed duplex scanners and Kofax Ascent Capture software we have the capacity to scan over 500,000 pages per day into most formats including TIF,PDF, DJVU, GIF or JPG. All scanning is performed to very strict quality standards with full logs kept for audit purposes.
Drawing scanning
Over 5000 drawings can be stored on a CD-ROM making this a far more efficient form of storage than microfilming your drawings. We can also convert paper drawings into fully structured CAD files.
Microfilm scanning
We can scan your microfilms and archive them with all your other documents so any user can access them instantly from their desktop. DCS can scan all forms of microfilms including rolls, microfiche, COM, 16mm up to full plate and even X-Rays and photographic negatives.
Microfiche scanning
Whether you have high density COM fiche, jackets or mixed 16 & 35mm (eg. planning applications) we can scan them in to a high quality and at a reasonable price. Our automated scanners can handle approx 100 frames per minute. DCS can also extract data from microfiche such as company record listings and other data into spreadsheet or database format.
Book scanning
DCS have specialised book scanners to delicately handle the scanning of even the most fragile book and documents without any contact to the original pages. This can be done in either b+w, greyscale or colour. Once scanned images can be converted into PDF, HTML or other formats making them instantly accessible on the web and even full text searchable.
CAD drawing digitising
We can convert drawings from paper into CAD format. There are options for either automatic conversion or a high quality trace over service which can include structured layering and other work. We support AutoCAD, Microstation and most other formats via DXF.
Data Entry
Our data keying bureau can type data from documents using single or double key entry giving high accuracy data input at low cost. Our operators can process hundreds of thousands of data fields per day at far lower cost than doing it in-house.
OCR conversion
DCS have developed our own sophisticated OCR and HTML conversion software which can accurately and cheaply convert large volumes of paper information into electronic form. The files we can supply include MS Office, HTML, SGML, XML, PDF, TXT, Spreadsheets and many more.
EDMS Conversion
DCS offer a wide range of EDMS format conversion services from one system to another. We can read most optical, WORM, CD, tape and disc data formats and convert both the image/document files as well as the associated index data.
PDF conversion
Adobes Acrobat PDF is one of the most popular file formats for publishing technical or highly structured documentation on the web. DCS offer specialist conversion services to this formats including conversion into all varieties of PDF and optional services to optimise them for web distribution.
Bates labeling
Bates labelling is a specialist permanent marking of documents and/or scanned images which ties them in relation to each other in a unique and specific sequence. This service is typically used by law firms for the preparation of case material.
Data Conversion

DCSs business consultants are all accredited with CDIA+ accreditation (Certified document imaging architect). This is the only widely available independant industry certification of the quality of a consultants skills. Our consultants can advise you on archive and records management strategies as well as best scanning practice and BS BIP0008 and ISO15489 compliance.
