Server Synchronisation Module
What is FileStore Server Synchronisation?
Many organisations need efficient distributed document and information storage but without the requirement to have expensive inter-office WAN links.
FileStore Server Synchronisation provides the solution allowing data to be accessed on a local network from a central cache. This system helps maintain data continuity and security, while reducing risk.
What does FileStore Server Synchronisation do?
Server Synchronisation allows you to keep local information access within the local network so documents are fetched from a local 'cached' store without having to retrieve them over low-speed wide area network links.
Should a user requires a document which is not cached locally then it will be fetched automatically from a remote server without any intervention required.
Documents can be synchronised on a dynamic basis as changes occur or on a pre-set schedule. In addition the pre-set schedule can be run overnight when network traffic is low.
Benefits and features
- Reduce business risk
- Automatic backup between sites for important business information
- Transparent access between head office and remote offices
- Reduction in wide area network traffic
- Secure data transfer over VPN's or leased lines
- Allows you to operate either a single 'global' server or a set of synchronised 'site' servers
Server Synchronisation can also be used to improve your disaster recovery plans. In the event of a site disaster your documents can be made instantly available from a synchronised remote backup site. Either you can install and operate this backup system or DCS can supply it as a contracted service.
