What is FileStore Desktop Scanning?

FileStore Desktop Scanning is an optional add-in module for FileStore, which enables low volume scanning requirements to be met from anywhere within or outside your company network.

Typical uses include:

  • Remote scanning of documents and dispatch to central office
  • Local ad-hoc LAN based desktop scanning requirements
  • To allow home workers to file documents into central FileStore server

What does FileStore Desktop Scanning do?

FileStore Desktop Scanning allows users to control local TWAIN scanners to capture documents digitally at their desktop. Barcodes can also be automatically used to separate multipage documents.

Users can then check, adjust and edit scanned documents before they are saved to a central server over a secure link.

No local client installation is required which gives additional benefits and savings to IT departments.

  • Local ad-hoc LAN based desktop scanning requirements
  • To allow home workers to file documents into central FileStore server

Larger volume (1,000+ per day) can be handled by the FileStore Kofax Ascent Capture scanning module. Details of this are available on a separate data sheet.
