Stylish Scanning Innovations for Windows and Mac Operating Systems

Fujitsu Europe Limited has today unveiled its newest one-button scanning solutions at CeBIT Expo opening in Hannover, Germany - ScanSnap S1500 and ScanSnap S1500M.

Fujitsu ScanSnap S1500 and ScanSnap S1500M are compact-size desktop document office scanners targeted for fast and easy high-quality scanning in general offices and diverse environments.

The ScanSnap S1500 is designed for Windows operating systems including Windows 2000, XP and Vista and generates PDF files as well as Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint files, whereas ScanSnap S1500M addresses Mac OS® X operating systems.

Fast One-Touch Scanning
The ScanSnap S1500 and S1500M excel through speed, ease of operation, efficient digitised data management, intelligent software functions and enhanced connectability. Their displayed Quick Menu references help expedite the scanning process and increase both models' flexibility.

Whether day-to-day business correspondence, business cards or colour brochures up to A3 in size, both models scan documents at speeds of up to 20 pages per minute in simplex- or 40 images per minute in duplex-mode (A4 portrait/300 dpi/monochrome, colour and greyscale).

Its scanning process is simplified through Fujitsu's unique one-touch, menu driven operating approach. With their small footprint of (W) 292 mm x (D) 159 mm x (H) 158 mm and 3 kg weight, both ScanSnap S1500 and S1500M sit comfortably on any desktop, providing an optimal imaging solution for efficient day-to-day scanning at the user's convenience. Both scanners are fitted with an USB 2.0 interface.

Ultrasonic Multi-feed Paper Detection
Ultrasonic multi-feed detection sensors assure a secure paper throughput. These are the first document scanners of their class to provide ultrasonic detection capabilities to the professional office desktop.

Both ScanSnap S1500 and S1500M include a 50-sheet Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) for consecutive batch scanning. Special ScanSnap carrier sheets enable users of both models to digitise A3 formats and varying size documents such as press clipping copies and photographs. Such paper documents can be either scanned successively or in mixed document batches.
