Apple Mac users get new Canon portable scanner

Canon UK, have announced the launch of the imageFORMULA P-150M to meet a significant demand from Apple Macintosh users for a stylish, high-speed portable scanner.
Canon’s imageFORMULA P-150M for Mac improves worker productivity in the office, the home, and on the move. This portable ‘scan-anywhere’ solution has an award-winning compact design and provides fast USB-powered scanning. In addition Canon’s CaptureOnTouch software enables P-150M users to quickly share information ‘on the cloud’ with data management software Evernote.

Following the launch of the award-winning* Canon imageFORMULA P-150 in November 2009 offering customers a highly portable  ‘scan-anywhere’ solution, Canon’s new version comes with a powerful bundled software package specifically for Mac systems.

The imageFORMULA P-150M also offers versatile  cross platform compatibility for users working across various system environments, such as Windows and Linux. Plus the unique built-in CaptureOnTouch Lite software provides ‘plug-and-scan’ functionality, without needing to install any application or driver software.

Whilst sharing many of the features of the popular imageFORMULA P-150 - including a black piano finish, compact design and fast USB-powered scanning - the P-150M will present a versatile approach to scanning in Mac environments. These will span traditional creative industries, marketers, and education establishments, through to more mainstream audiences, general office use and home workers.

With batch-scanning capabilities of 15ppm, Mac users can now benefit from improved productivity from any location, whether in the office, on the move or at home.

The imageFORMULA P-150M began shipping across Europe from mid-June 2010. For existing imageFORMULA P-150 users, a Mac driver is also available for download from Canon’s support website.
