DCS provide mfi with consultancy services on project records management

mfi are one of the UKs largest retailers with over 190 stores in the UK. Other group companies include Howden joinery and Hygena.

Following the completion of a large IT software implementation project the IT team were left with thousands of digital files and email records which needed organising in a rational way. The files had 'mushroomed' into a complex structure of subdirectories and individual filing areas which lacked control, security and made it very difficult to find information.

DCS were approached to provide consultancy service to suggest how the files may be structured and and to look into managment solutions to improve future projects.

The project has now been completed and implementation of its recommendations are now being considered as part of IT planning for 2006.
