Document scanning systems

There are almost as many document scanning systems as there are shapes and sizes of source material including systems for large format document scanning. There is special software that can recognise hand-written and computer printed characters, ticks, crosses, bar codes etc, and integrates with other computer applications and databases.

Document scanning systems handle bulk scanning of documents, scanning of drawings & photographs, microfilm scanning, microfiche scanning and the scanning of books and delicate originals.

Bulk Document Scanning

Sophisticated high speed duplex scanners have the capacity to scan over 500,000 pages per day into most formats including TIF, PDF, OCR, HTML, JPG and many more.

Drawing Scanning

Large format scanners can cope with drawings of up to 40" wide and of any length.

Microfilm Scanning

You can scan and archive microfilm and keep the information with all your other documents so that any user can access them instantly from their desktop. All forms of microfilm including rolls can be scanned including, microfiche, COM, 16mm up to full plate, X-Ray film and photographic negatives.

Data Entry

If you send out survey forms, standard response cards, applications or order forms then the extraction of data from them can be automated which will reduce entry costs substantially.

Post Room Services

Certain companies can handle all of your typical incoming post room functions from receiving mail through to scanning and distribution. PO box numbers can be set up with mail fulfilment facilities to administer your mail, mailshots or even marketing and survey returns.

Data Conversion Services

Most data conversion services offer a wide range of EDMS format conversion services that can read optical formats, WORM, CD, tape and disc data and convert both the image/document files as well as the associated index data.

Book Scanning

There are specialised scanners that can delicately handle the scanning of even the most fragile book and documents without any contact to the original pages. Once scanned, images can be converted into PDF, HTML or other formats making them instantly accessible on the web.

The document scanning industry offers secure, space-saving, time-saving, high speed, high quality document scanning into almost any format for easy storage, access and duplication.
