FileStore Desktop Scanning Module
Advantages of Distributed Web Based Scanning
The FileStore desktop scanning module is an optional add-in module for the FileStore client which enables low volume scanning requirements to be met from anywhere within or outside your company network. This gives immediate process improvements realised by eliminating the time and expense required to ship documents to centralised scanning locations. By transmitting information electronically, distributed imaging also increases security by preventing the loss of documentation in transit.
For distributed enterprises, web based scanning allows employees working from remote locations to perform their own scanning operations, making it possible for operators in centralised scanning and indexing departments to be deployed where their skills can be put to better use. Furthermore, distributed imaging improves customer satisfaction by making information more readily accessible and speeding the time required to process customer data. No local client installation is required which gives additional benefits and savings to IT departments.
Typical uses of this module include:
- Remote scanning of documents and despatch to central office
- Local ad-hoc LAN based desktop scanning requirements
- To allow home workers to file documents into central FileStore server
Larger volume (1,000+ per day) can be handled by the FileStore Kofax Ascent Capture scanning module. Details of this are available on a separate data sheet.
